PowerTech was founded in 1998 in South Carolina by Jeff Lewis, following several years of experience with an electric utility, an electrical equipment manufacturer, an electrical distributor, and a utility representative agency.
Now headquartered in North Carolina, PowerTech represents high-quality electrical equipment manufacturers and employs experienced, technically skilled sales and customer service professionals from South Carolina to Maine.
PowerTech serves investor-owned utilities, rural electric cooperatives, municipal electric systems, utility-focused distributors, and EPC firms throughout this territory. The company also maintains strong relationships with statewide utility organizations, utility contractors, and advocacy groups within the electric utility industry.
MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
I am honored and grateful to serve as President of the Electrical Equipment Representatives Association (EERA) and to speak on behalf of our professional, knowledgeable and dedicated members across the United States, U.S. Territories, and Canada. Our members provide high-quality sales representation for hundreds of medium- and high-voltage equipment manufacturers and service providers.
It is humbling to reflect on the many highly respected leaders who have held this position before me, as well as on the invaluable lessons I have learned from them over the years. Founded in 1948, EERA was established as a forum where independent manufacturers’ representatives could come together to discuss the industry, standards of excellence, best practices, emerging trends, employee training and other matters of importance. Today, our members employ more than 1,000 technical sales professionals and manage over $15 billion dollars in annual sales. More than half of our member firms have been in business for over 50 years demonstrating a strong commitment to their local markets and providing deep industry knowledge and long-standing customer relationships.
We firmly believe that independent manufacturers’ representatives offer the most cost-effective approach for bringing products and services to market. Local representatives are fully engaged throughout the entire sales cycle - from product specification & approval to quotation, order processing, delivery, invoicing, training, and long-term support. EERA members are held to high standards and continuously strive to exceed the expectations of the manufacturers and customers they serve. Our members are expected to operate with integrity and professionalism, ensuring that manufacturers and customers can trust that their interests are well represented and protected.
